A packed auditorium provided the players with well deserved recognition for their efforts over the 2017-18 season

The 2018 Godmanchester Rovers Youth FC Presentation Day on Saturday 2nd June was a rip-roaring success.
As has become protocol for our growing club, we were required to arrange three presentation sessions in order to ensure we were able to fit in all those who wished to attend and support the players.

With each session packed to the rafters with friends, family and supporters the players were able to receive their awards to an uplifting and celebratory chorus of cheers, claps and - dare we say it - maybe even a few tears of joy from proud parents and family members.
The audience certainly attended in force and created a wonderful atmosphere - and this no doubt made the event even more special for all of our players.

The presentations were a chance for the club to show our appreciation for the enormous effort the players have put in this season, as they continue to learn, grow and master their footballing skills and hone their tactical nous. The old adage suggests that 'team work makes the dream work' and this was evidenced across each and every team, manager and coach as we heard the heartfelt words of the managers and coaches and saw the camaraderie across each team unit.

The day was also about the club having the opportunity to thank the families and supporters of the teams for their ongoing commitment and the sacrifices made in ensuring the players can train and play each week across the season. It also provided us an opportunity to give thanks to those individuals who get involved in volunteering their time and who go the extra mile to make the club what it is today.

Everyone who is involved in the running of our fantastic club is a volunteer - and we always need more help! If you want to get more involved in any aspect, be it simply helping out setting up and taking down nets and equipment, providing administrative or organisational assistance to team managers, or want to get involved in refereeing the younger age groups, then please get in touch with your team manager or coach in the first instance. You might even be thinking about becoming a coach yourself - we can help you get qualified! Please get in touch and take the first step if you want to get more involved in any way, shape or form.

However, Saturdays event was primarily about us recognising the players who represent our football club - well done to each and every one of you for your efforts and achievements this season - you have done yourself and your club proud.
